In the afternoon 12 aircraft led by P/O B.W. Brown were briefed on rail cuts between Udine and Grado again.
1 direct hit, 2 possible direct hits and 3 very near misses were scored but Red leader, P/O Brown burst into flames at between 5000' and 4000' in his bomb-dive and continued on to crash at H.466977, being categorised as 'missing, believed killed'. No A/A was observed in the area, and no enemy aircraft were sighted.
